Achillea millefolium Fireland (Yarrow) is a perennial growing to 60cm with dark green, feathery foliage, The flowers bring in the beneficial insects particularly hoverflies. It makes an excellent dried or cut flower. Remove faded flowers regularly to promote continued blooming. Grow Achillea Fireland in full sun in well-drained soil. Divide clumps every three to five years, and never allow plants to become waterlogged. Drought tolerant and often grown to prevent soil erosion. This plant is inclined to spread but is easy to control by reducing the clumps each spring.
