Achillea millefolium Cerise Queen (Yarrow) takes centre stage in the meadow garden during summer. Its cerise pink flat flower heads contrast wonderfully with the strong colours of the liliums, daylilies and dahlias. Cerise Queen is a perennial growing to 60cm with dark green, feathery foliage, The flowers being in the beneficial insects particularly hoverflies. It makes an excellent dried or cut flower. Remove faded flowers regularly to promote continued blooming. Grow Achillea ‘Cerise Queen’ in full sun in well-drained soil. Divide clumps every three to five years, and never allow plants to become waterlogged. Drought tolerant and often grown to prevent soil erosion. This plant is inclined to spread but is easy to control by reducing the clumps each spring. Easily divided in fall or early spring.
