Euphorbia myrsinites - Myrtle Spurge
Euphorbia myrsinites, commonly called Myrtle Spurge is an evergreen, succulent perennial with sprawling stems that grow up to 40 cm long. Leaves are spirally arranged, fleshy bluish-green up to 2.5cm long. Flowers and their bracts are initially chartreuse-yellow but deepen to a red hue in summer. This will grow in most sunny areas, but does particularly well in hot, dry sites with poor soil. Euphorbia myrsinites grows to a height of 20cm with a spread up to 60cm.
CAUTION: skin and eye irritant/toxic if eaten.
