Mints are vigorous perennials that thrive in light soil with good drainage.  Due to this they are always best grown in pots.  Most will grow in sun or partial shade; the variegated types may require some protection from direct sun.  Mulch to keep damp and cool.  Frequent harvesting is the key to keeping mint plants at their best. Young leaves have more flavour and can be harvested as soon as it comes up in spring.

Berries and Cream Mint - Size 40cm.   Mint breeder James Westerfield introduced yet another winner with this compact, perennial herb. ‘Berries and Cream’ has a warm, soothing aroma and flavour that hints of berries and mint. Its deep green leaves and mauve flowers in summer are visually appealing, as well. Very desirable herb garden addition also looks great in any border or container. The dry leaves can be used for tea. Popular for sachets and potpourri.
